Insurance & Private Pay

At Coast & Compass, I want families to have a clear understanding of their options for accessing care. Behavior Consultation & Intervention may be provided through insurance or on a private-pay basis, depending on your family's needs and circumstances. I also offer private-pay IEP Advocacy & Educational Support.

Insurance-Based Services

Coast & Compass is currently contracted with:

  • Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts

  • Optum and related insurance plans

Insurance coverage varies based on each family's individual plan. Benefits, deductibles, copays, coinsurance, authorization requirements, and covered services are determined by your specific insurance plan.

For families using insurance for Behavior Consultation & Intervention, services begin with an individualized assessment and treatment plan, followed by any required authorization before services begin.

Private-Pay Services

For families who prefer not to use insurance or are seeking services that are not covered by their insurance plan, private-pay services are also available.

Behavior Consultation & Intervention — $150/hour OR 4 sessions for $540

Depending on your child's needs, private-pay Behavior Consultation & Intervention includes individualized BCBA assessment, direct BCBA intervention, caregiver and parent training, behavioral consultation, goal development, and ongoing support.

Services are tailored to your child's specific needs and your family's priorities rather than following a predetermined treatment model.

IEP Advocacy & Educational Support — $175/hour

Private-pay educational support is available for families navigating their child's educational needs and the IEP process.

Services may include:

  • Reviewing IEPs and educational records

  • Helping parents understand evaluations and school documentation

  • Preparing for IEP meetings

  • Identifying concerns and priorities

  • Developing questions and goals for school meetings

  • Reviewing accommodations and supports

  • Discussing behavioral, communication, social, and independence needs

  • Providing guidance throughout the IEP process

  • Consulting regarding behavioral and developmental needs within the school environment

Transparent & Family-Centered

Whether your family is accessing Behavior Intervention through insurance or choosing private-pay services, I want you to feel informed about your options from the beginning.

We'll discuss the services that may be appropriate for your family, applicable rates, and payment expectations before services begin so you know what to expect.

If you're not sure which option is the right fit, that's okay. We can start with a conversation and determine what makes the most sense for your child and family.

Cancellation & Rescheduling

We understand that unexpected circumstances arise.

Appointments should be cancelled or rescheduled at least 24 hours in advance whenever possible.

For private-pay services, cancellations or missed appointments with less than 24 hours' notice may be subject to the applicable cancellation fee outlined in the client agreement.

For insurance-based services, cancellation policies and any applicable charges will be handled in accordance with applicable insurance requirements and service agreements.
