Our Approach
Meaningful Goals Over More Goals
I don't believe that a longer treatment plan automatically means better care.
Children can easily become overwhelmed when therapy becomes a long list of things they are expected to work on.
Instead, I focus on identifying the skills that are most meaningful for each child and family.
Every goal should have a purpose.
-

Connection Comes First
Meaningful learning begins with a strong relationship.
I take the time to build trust, understand a child's interests, and create positive learning experiences.
Therapy should feel like a supportive part of a child's life—not something that takes them away from being a kid.
-

Skills That Matter in Real Life
ABA should extend beyond the therapy session.
The skills a child learns should help them participate more successfully in the environments where they actually live their lives.
That might mean communicating a need, getting dressed independently, participating in a family routine, playing with peers, navigating a community, or developing greater confidence and independence.
-

Family-Centered Care
Families know their children best.
I believe parents and caregivers should feel heard, respected, and involved throughout the process.
I work collaboratively with families to understand their priorities and make sure treatment reflects what is genuinely important to their child and their everyday life.
-

Respect for Every Child
Above all, children deserve to be treated with dignity, patience, and respect.
My goal is not to change who a child is.
My goal is to help children develop meaningful skills that increase communication, independence, participation, confidence, and access to the world around them.
-

A Small Practice By Design
Coast & Compass is intentionally small.
By keeping my caseload limited, I am able to remain directly involved in each family's care and develop a deeper understanding of each child.
You won't be passed between a large team of providers. You work directly with me.
I believe that consistency and genuine relationships matter, and I've built Coast & Compass around that belief.
